Dr. Abdenur is the Medical Director of Metabolic Services at CHOC and the PSF Chief of the Metabolic Disorders Division. He has special interest in the diagnosis and management of children with fatty acid oxidation defects and organic acidemias. Dr. Abdenur completed fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition at North Shore University Hospital, Cornell University Medical College. He also completed fellowship training in Biochemical Genetics, at the Denver Children’s Hospital and The Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and in Clinical Genetics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Irfan Ahmad, MD Neonatology Irfan Ahmad, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and board admissible in neonatology. He served as Chief Fellow and completed his Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship at the University of California Irvine (UCI) Medical Center. Dr. Ahmad completed his pediatric internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City. He attended medical school and completed a transitional internship at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Ahman served on the UCI faculty as an assistant professor of Pediatrics and continues to be involved in research at UCI. He is a co-investigator in a NIH sponsored study which involves measuring the effects of assisted exercise on body composition in preterm infants.

Chang, MD Cardiology Dr. Chang is Medical Director of the CHOC Heart Institute and the Chief of the PSF Division of Cardiology. He completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship training at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center, in Washington D.C., and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, respectively. He graduated from the Georgetown University Medical School, in Washington, D.C., and received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore. Dr. Chang also has a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Miami School of Business. Dr. Chang has held faculty appointments at the Harvard University School of Medicine, the University of Southern California School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, in Philadelphia. He also directed the cardiac intensive care programs at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and Miami Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining CHOC, Dr. Chang was medical director of the pediatric cardiac intensive care service and chief of critical care cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, and a tenured associate professor in pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Chang is widely published and on the editorial board of several publications. He frequently publishes articles, presents lectures on a variety of topics and has published books, including Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care and Heart Failure in Children. He has served as program director for several large international conferences and symposia. In 2003, Dr. Chang received the presidential citation award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Lott is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the UCI School of Medicine. He was Chairman of the UCI’s Department of Pediatrics from 1990-2000, and since 2000, he has served at UCI as Associate Dean of Clinical Neuroscience.
Dr. Lott graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine and received his training in pediatrics, neurology and child neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He was clinical director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center for Mental Retardation at Harvard from 1974-1982, and has also served as a clinical research associate at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Lott's primary research interest is in the neurology of developmental disabilities. He is the director of the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Down Syndrome Society in New York. Torno, MD Oncology Dr. Lilibeth Torno leads the Ambulatory Care Services of The CHOC Cancer Institute and directs the CHOC Long Term Follow-up Clinic for survivors of childhood cancer. The outpatient clinic provides comprehensive care of children undergoing chemotherapy, as well as those who have completed therapy. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Torno completed her fellowship training at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. She completed her residency at CHOC. Robert Tran, MD Gastroenterology Robert Tran, M.D. is board certified in pediatrics and gastroenterology/nutrition. He received his medical degree from the Tuffs University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Tran completed his residency training at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. His fellowship training was completed at Mattel Children’s Hospital of UCLA in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Tran has special interests in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric intestinal disorders and growth and nutrition. Wang, MD Metabolic Disorders Raymond Wang, MD is a member of the PSF metabolic division and is board certified in both biochemical genetics and pediatrics. His major interests include inborn errors of metabolism, especially the lysosomal storage disorders. Dr. Wang has performed research on Fabry disease, determining the symptomatology of females with the disorder and participating as an investigator in a clinical trial for a novel treatment of the disease. He is currently in the process of establishing a lysosomal storage disorder clinic at the Children's Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Wang attended medical school at the University of California-Los Angeles. He completed his residency in pediatrics and medical genetics as well as a fellowship in clinical biochemical genetics at the University of California-Los Angeles/Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Lawrence Wickham, MD Neonatology Lawrence K. Wickham, M.D. is the Medical Co-Director of Neonatal Services at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Newport Beach. Dr. Wickham served a neonatology fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. He completed both his internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he served as Chief Resident. He attended medical school at the Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Wickham is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal/perinatal medicine. His honors include the Jonas Salk Mentor in Medicine Award in 2000 and California Perinatal Association’s Clinician of the Year in 1989.
As a PSF neonatologist, Dr. Wickham’s goal is to provide the highest level of care for patients at delivery and during their stay in the Hoag Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). His special interests include care of the late preterm infant and support of families dealing with the stress of having their infant hospitalized in a NICU.
